The wedding was planned in six weeks. NO I was not pregnant, we were thinking of going overseas and thought well we'd only have to come back and do it so...let's get married first.
The morning started out well. Until Kev rang to say we now have only one wedding car...panic! Some genius, not sure who suggested ringing Doug Johnson, a friend who lived across the road from my parents. He owned a new Falcon, and was happy to let us use it as a bridal car. His mother laughed when she saw him washing it that morning, as it was the first time he ever had. Up until then he paid a nephew or niece to clean it for him.
My brother in law to be, Owen, took our wedding photos, so was at my parents house before the wedding taking pictures. You can imagine the joy one of my brothers felt when Owen announced he had to get another camera - the shutter had stuck open. He dashed off and I was told, "Man you must be ugly sis if you broke the camera."
Then the rain came. Luckily we were getting married in the Ballroom of Alberton House. The verandas were a bit slippery though and I nearly ended up on my ass. Some great entrance that would have made!
